His and Hers

I love, love, love to throw parties.  A couple months ago Ryan's cousin/my friend, Laura, and I decided to host a dinner party.  Because she has the same passion for parties as I do planning the event was super easy and so much fun!  We came up with the theme 'His and Hers' and planned the whole event according to stereotypical 'His' and 'Her' things.  Since the only day that worked for us was Feb 13th we put a Valentines day spin on things.

Here is a run down of the happenings...

The Invitations:
I forgot to take a picture of these, but they were ADORABLE!  Laura is so crafty and creative and did a great job.  They were two sided- one side for the guys and one side for the girls.  The guys side was attached with duct tape and had Brad Paisley's, I'm Still A Guy, lyrics on them.  They girls side was pink and flowery and formal and cute!

Notice Laura's cute baby belly.  One of four present at our party! Talk about a baby boom...

His Menu:                                 Her Menu:
Chicken Wing Dip                     Spinach Artichoke Dip
Chips and Dip                                 Fruit Salad
Bacon Cheese Burgers           Lemon Garlic Chicken Kabobs
       French Fries                         Fresh Garden Salad
      Baked Beans                    Twice Baked Potatoes
Frosty Mug Beverages             Strawberry Lemonade Punch
Brownies, etc...            Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce, etc...

His Decor:
The guys room was set up with picnic tables and paper products. Comics and the sport section of the newspaper was used for table coverings.  And that was it.

Her Decor:
Laura made the most adorable heart-pouch favors full of AWESOME goodies!
Lots of flowers, of course!
Candy, candy, and more candy.
A formal china-set table.
Heart garlands.
Red-twig dogwood tree centerpiece with heart ornaments.

We wrapped up the night (after the boys were done shocking themselves with Jesse's 'shock machine') with a game of 'What's Yours Like?'. Halarious.
Boys are weird. Enough said.

Such a fun afternoon/evening with great friends and family.  There were several requests to make this an annual (or quarterly) event, so we will see what our creative minds come up with next!
